Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 vos pr\u00eats, nous avons pu r\u00e9unir la somme n\u00e9cessaire pour r\u00e9server la roulotte et Zorba le percheron.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nous avons donc convenu avec Pierre Tranchant<\/a>, son actuel compagnon de labourage et autre fanage, de se voir le 17 d\u00e9cembre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00c9leveur de ch\u00e8vre, c\u00e9r\u00e9alier de vieilles semences, Pierre est un paysan low-tech; v\u00e9ritable pr\u00e9curseur de l’agriculture de demain.<\/h3>\n
<\/div>\n
\n

Nous nous sommes donc organis\u00e9s pour r\u00e9server un van (sorte de camionnette pour chevaux) aupr\u00e8s de Franck Boileau<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

La route \u00e9tant longue, nous partons le vendredi soir vers 19h30 pour arriver, \u00e0 mi-chemin, dans la Venise Vertes, \u00e0 Benet chez nos amis C\u00e9line et Nicolas (que nous avions rencontr\u00e9 lors de la construction de leur maison en paille<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Les retrouvailles seront relativement courtes, nous avons RDV \u00e0 45 minutes de Nantes pour 14h le samedi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

15h30, nous pouvons enfin discuter face \u00e0 face avec Pierre pour lui poser milles questions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tu l’as connu comment Zorba (de son vrai nom Urban 3)?<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

Zorba, n\u00e9 en 2008, a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9bourr\u00e9 et form\u00e9 par Amit \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge de deux ans. Amit revenait d’un voyage de 6 ans en roulotte pour rejoindre l’Isra\u00ebl. Il a ensuite fait de l’attelage et roulotte pour une troupe circassienne pendant deux ans pour d\u00e9crocher le poste de promeneur de touristes, un peu plus tard. C’est alors que, d\u00e9\u00e7u par un premier cheval, Urban, renomm\u00e9 Zorba, est adopt\u00e9 par Pierre. Il le forme aux travaux des champs mais se confronte rapidement au manque d’entrain et \u00e0 la dimension nouvelle de ces champs. La parcellaire morcel\u00e9 est devenu moins grand et la taille de Zorba, tout comme son enjamb\u00e9e, ne sont pas des atouts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Violette, trait bretonne, a alors \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9e en paire pour arriver, aujourd’hui, \u00e0 une parfaite ad\u00e9quation avec le travail demand\u00e9.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Une bonne heure de questions plus\u00a0 tard, nous repartions avec un RDV pour le lendemain matin vers 10h afin de nous aider \u00e0 charger le percheron de presque une tonne dans le van.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nous passons la soir\u00e9e chez des amis au Temple-de-Bretagne. Les anecdotes suivent les trinques et nous nous couchons tardivement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Le r\u00e9veil \u00e0 7h30 est brumeux et quasi inaudible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nous arrivons tout de m\u00eame avec un peu de retard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

Le plus d\u00e9licat est \u00e0 venir, nous en repartirons sous haute tension!<\/h4>\n
\n

Faute d’\u00eatre parfaitement pr\u00e9par\u00e9s \u00e0 ce qui nous attend, nous assistons plus que nous n’aidons au chargement de Zorba. Il monte facilement mais comprend rapidement que Violette est \u00e9loign\u00e9e et qu’il va partir. La tension monte rapidement. Il faudra que Pierre prenne les choses en main pour \u00e9viter que les sabots du percheron n’aient raison de la carlingue du camion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nous partons en transe, f\u00e9briles, quasiment p\u00e9trifi\u00e9s par ce que nous sommes en train d’entreprendre : faire 5 heures de routes avec un cheval d’une tonne qui pourrait tout aussi bien tirer le camion!<\/h3>\n
\n

Jade, bien que tout aussi sensible, prend le volant en premier. Les derniers ronds points et autres carrefours sont pass\u00e9s sans accro. Nous ne quittons pas la camera embarqu\u00e9e \u00e0 l’arri\u00e8re des yeux.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Le niveau de stress est \u00e0 son comble. Nous sommes parfaitement conscients que l’entreprise est hasardeuse voir dangereuse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Heureusement la camion roule de fa\u00e7on fluide avec le r\u00e9gulateur de vitesse et nous avan\u00e7ons r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nous envisageons la premi\u00e8re pause apr\u00e8s Nantes. En quelques minutes chrono, l’un de nous va rassurer Zorba, lui donner une pomme, lui parler et le caresser; pendant que les autres soulagent leur stress entre une clope vite grill\u00e9e et une vessie trop gorg\u00e9e d’adr\u00e9naline pour vraiment \u00eatre rel\u00e2ch\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

En 2 minutes, moteur encore allum\u00e9, les hennissements reprennent avec quelques pas sourds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nous repartons, pas vraiment plus d\u00e9tendus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nous ne ferons que 3 pauses de quelques minutes en 5 heures afin de rallier, au plus vite, le centre \u00e9questre de Saint Ciers d’Abzac o\u00f9 Greg et Hervanne nous rejoignent \u00e0 la fin d’une sortie \u00e0 cheval.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Les kilom\u00e8tres auront d\u00e9fil\u00e9s dans l’espoir instantan\u00e9 que rien de grave ne se passe. Tous les sc\u00e9narios d\u00e9filent dans nos t\u00eates et les chiffres s’\u00e9grainent sur le GPS.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

15h30 pr\u00e9cise, nous ouvrons la porte. Zorba est en sueur, stress\u00e9 mais sort calmement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Il marche un peu, cherche ses rep\u00e8res dans un environnement tout aussi scrutateur, ampli d’yeux d’\u00e9quid\u00e9s dubitatifs. Le pr\u00e9 est salvateur pour tous.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

La premi\u00e8re roulade est vite suivie d’un sprint au bout du champs pour revenir aussi sec vers nous au galop.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Il semble soulag\u00e9 d’\u00eatre arriv\u00e9 m\u00eame s’il r\u00e9it\u00e8re r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement un hennissement de corne de brume qui se perd au loin sans trouver d’\u00e9cho. Les premiers contacts avec les pensionnaires ne se font pas tarder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nous nous regroupons, Florian, Jade et Moi, en cercle pour l\u00e2cher d’un trait de larme et de sanglots mal contenus, toute la tension de la journ\u00e9e et la joie qui peut enfin s’exprimer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Zorba est arriv\u00e9! Alors Florian saute… sur l’occasion d\u00e8s le lendemain.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to book Zorba and the first roulotte.<\/p>\n

We agreed with Pierre Tranchant<\/a>, its actual owner, to visite him on December the 17th.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Pierre is a low-tech goat breeder and old crop grower. A real new age paysan with sustainable technics.<\/h3>\n
\n

We booked a horse van with Franck Boileau<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

As the journey is rather long (450km), we left late on Friday to reach Niort half way and visit our friends C\u00e9line and Nicolas. We met as they were building a strawbale house<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We were only reunited fora short time as our meeting was set for 2PM the next day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

3,50PM, we met Pierre at last and we are able to discuss with the real person.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

How did you get to met Zorba (its real name is Urban 3)?<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

Zorba, was born in 2008. After travelling for 6 years with a horse drawn caravan reaching Israel; Amit took care of him, trained him for two years. He then carried on pulling touring carriages for tourists before joining a circus in Britanny.<\/p>\n

This is when, disappointed by a first inadapted horse, Pierre trained him with field works.<\/p>\n

He then realized that this horse is not so fond of pulling tools as much as pulling carriages. Furthermore, the fields had been devided into smaller areas and Zorba’s poroportions and pace tends to be a handicap.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Violette, a Breton pulling horse, is then trained from an early age, pairing with Zorba. She has reached a perfect coordination level with her owner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After an hour of exchanges, we are leaving for the day. We are to come back the next day to load Zorba into the van.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\n

The evening is spent with our friends at le Temple-de-Bretagne.Anecdotes and cheers take us late in the night.<\/p>\n

Waking up at 7:30 AM revealed to be rather foggy and difficult.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

The hardest part is yet to come and tension rises to its climax!<\/h4>\n
\n

As we are not fully prepared, we assist more than we help loading Zorba. He quickly climbs in the van put also realized that Violette is being taken away and starts trying to get out. Tension rised rapidly and it is time to part abruptadly in order to avoid everyone from being to stressed out to keep on with this crazy adventure. We realise that we are carrying a one tonne horse that could just as well pull the van himself!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We are leaving in a trance like state, febrile, on the verge of being petrified by fear : it’s a 5 hour long journey ahead of us!<\/h3>\n
\n

Jade, although just as sensitive , is driving the first portion. The last round-about and crossings are quickly behind us and we are on a highway driving towards Nantes; ours eyes riveted on the screen filming the back of the van.<\/p>\n

The stress level is at its climax, it is difficult to keep still and not worry. We are perfectly aware of the dangerosity and hasard this entreprise is confronting us with.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Thankfuly, the van is easy to drive and does not seem to mind having such a burden for the day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The first break after Nantes. Within a few minutes, one of us is going at the back with an apple and a few cuddles and padding to reassure the great percheron while the two others are juggling with a cigarette quickly consumed and a too-full-with-adrenaline-bladder to be properly releaved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2 minutes, engine still rolling and the first neigh are calling out, echoed by a few heavy steps.We are hitting the road again, not so reassured.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Al together, we will have stopped 3 times 5 minutes, rallying, as quick as possible our final destination the equestrian centre of Saint Ciers d’Abzac where Greg and Hervanne are joining us after a short horse ride.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Kilometers rolled by, hoping for nothing serious to happen. All and every scenario had plenty of time to pass throw our preoccupied minds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

3:30 PM precisly, we arrive and open the back door.<\/p>\n

Zorba is soaked with perspiration, streesed out a bit but gets out quietly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He is taken for a short walk, seeking out for reassuring known landmarks in the middle of scrutinising equestrian eyes just as curious. Walking in the field is relieving for everyone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The first rolling on the dirt is shortly followed by a rapid run forth and back to the end of the field, stopping right in front of us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Zorba seems to be reeved although is repeats a gloomy whinnying piercing through our hears without getting any echo in return. The first contact with the other horses are abundant and joyful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Florian, Jade and myself are forming a close circle, letting go a few tears, embracing a joy that took 5 hours to express.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The next morning, Florian and Jade did not wait much longer for padding, cuddling, grooming our rested and fed horse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
